Studio Policy

Duration
  • Lessons are offered in 30 minute or 60 minute durations. 
 
Scheduling
   There are 2 options:
  • Weekly recurring lesson:
In this option, the student is on the schedule at the same time each week. Please understand when you have scheduled a recurring lesson, that time slot is reserved for you, regardless of whether you are there or not. Therefore, students must pay the full monthly tuition, regardless of attendance. If you cancel a lesson, it is your responsibility to keep track of your make-ups and get in touch with me to schedule a make-up lesson. Please see “Make-ups” for more information on cancellation policy.
 
  • Single lesson:
Single lessons are scheduled as needed. Payment is due at the time of the lesson. If you “no-show” in this option, you will be required to pay for your lesson in advance prior scheduling any future lessons.

 
 Payment
  • We accept cash, check (subject to a $25 returned check fee), or PayPal (plus 2.9% and $0.30). 
 
 Discontinuation
  • Discontinuation of voice lessons may be done before billing of the next month.  If you have already paid for the month, your lessons will discontinue at the beginning of the next month and you can complete the lessons for that month.  There will be no refunds. 
 
 Cancellations
  • I must have at least a 48 hour notice of cancellations due to schedule conflicts (such as rehearsals, games, events, etc.). Without 48 hour advanced notice, you will not receive a make-up. 
  • ​Illness, inclement weather, and other emergencies are exceptions, however, communication is still expected in reasonable circumstances. Make-ups are always available under these circumstances. 
  • No shows, no advance notice will not receive the option for a make-up lesson. Please note: 3 no shows will result in your dismissal from Studio Venable Simmons.
  • ​You are responsible for keeping track of your missed lessons and getting in touch with me to schedule your make-up. 
  • No refunds will be given.
 
 Make-up lessons
  • It is studio policy that each student on the recurring schedule must pay monthly tuition due at the beginning of each month, regardless of cancellations.  If you have to miss a lesson, and you have met all the studio requirements to allow you a make-up lesson, you may schedule your make-up with me within the following guidelines:
It is your responsibility to get in touch with me to arrange a make-up time.  You may schedule a make-up lesson with me by calling my business number: (816) 701-9640, texting me, or emailing me at studiovenablesimmons@yahoo.com. 
 
  • Make-ups must be reconciled within a month.
 
Instructor Cancellations
  •  I will always do my best to maintain a consistent schedule and keep cancellations to a minimum.  However, due to my performance career, there may be times cancellations are inevitable.  In such cases, I will either reschedule everyone at their convenience, or I will refund the cost of the lesson/lessons.
